I'd suggest you get it scanned with a DRB III to see if any trouble codes are present. The R&R of the Skreem module is typically an authorized dealership deal. A scan with a DRB III will indicate if the skreem is bad. Usually when the skreem goes bad the car will not start until the unit has been replaced. I don't believe I have seen any past post in which if you press your fob--- then the car will start, although you could be a first. Keep us posted of the outcome.
