Should be a pretty long thread fron 2013 about what was done but first you need to understand that Merc never made a coupe version of the SLK320 which is the basis for the Crossfire, it was a retractable hardtop and had a hard tonneau cover that raised to lower the top. The bulkhead behind the seats is to locate and support the tonneau.

Second the bulkhead is in two sections, a lower section to contain the gas tank and an upper 6" section that is not structural or even functional in a coup (does not even reach all of the way across.

Third, with the seat reclined as I like it the contact is between the seat back and the top of the bulkhead.

So what I did was to remove the wide plastic piece from the top of the bulkhead and carve about 4" out from the top 6" high section of the bulkhead behind the driver's seat. Now the seat goes back far enough for me.

Picture shows just how much an be removed, I just cut out the top section behind the driver's seat. Was enough for me.
