The stock Crossfire bolt is not threaded for about .66".
From the ball to bolt junction to the end of the thread is 1.54".

Thanks, that is what I figured from pics of Mercedes ones.
I did it in a separate post because really 2 different items, but related for my purpose. The aftermarket bolts are typically fully threaded, so I may just buy 5 -10 of those, and cut them down, if I can't find any locally.
