I was talking about the plenums, they had a finely machined surface on the bottom to clamp against a steel gasket. Looking at the way the SRT machined edges have been rounded a really coarse grit was used when glass beads, walnut shells etc would have been better to use. Whatever was used the machined surfaces should have been suitably masked.
That is my humble opinion, you may disagree.
