Re: Fob programming for door unlocking
OneHundred80 (glad you did not give up on me) and Mrmiata,
I drove down to the dealership today because they were not returning my calls. I needed a little bit of knowledge from you guys so I could bluff my way with the service rep. I am happy to report that Chrysler is ordering me a new gas door lock (third picture above). Chrysler broke mine while installing the Actuator in the trunk well. They are paying for the part and for the labor.
I was confused with the Actuator because all along I thought I needed a PS Relay...that socket board that sits on the side in the trunk well. I tried to google Actuator and it was showing me pictures in a car door.
I searched this forum last night and found the picture of the inside of the gas door with the pencil. I compared it to mine. Looks the same but does not act the same because Chrysler broke my pin, air hose and lock. I told them when they took my old Actuator out they most likely pulled the hose and it snapped off the fuel door air chamber. He went to the mechanic and came back and told me they will take care of it. It will take 10--14 days for the part to come in.
Service Rep told me he would fix the 'code' for my oil can HI message. I told him not necessary that his mechanic put to much oil in my car and that is why the light came on. He asked me how much extra oil. I told him 1/2 quart. I have you guys to thank for telling me it was to much oil.
Thank you very much for being patient with me, for attaching pictures and most of all for helping me. I read everything you guys say and print some things out.
thank you,
Sandy
