I was at the DC Auto Show last January and there was a guy selling portable jump start kits. Neat little lithium battery unit that he said could start a car 8 times without recharging. I bought one and put it in the trunk of my Crossfire.

Yesterday I went out to start my Crossfire, and totally dead battery. No panel lights, nothing. I put a meter across the battery and it showed 1.1 volts.

Okay, so I brought out my jump starter, hooked it to the battery and got in the car. Panel lights. Turned the key and the starter turned the engine over nicely, but no start. I guess our car needs a lot of amps to get it started.

Went out a bought a new battery and problem solved.

As soon as it started up I noticed the dome light was on. Now I know why the battery was dead. I had changed oil two days ago and turned the dome light on so that I could read my manual on resetting the FSS.
