... I would cut pins 10,9,8 and 3. The reason is the harness adapter has wires in the proper location for the front speakers. Since the wires are already there in the proper location for the front speakers, they should be used for the front speakers. Then you can use your new wire then to drive the subs instead of the front channels.
PS. the RCA Preamp leads of this pioneer head unit drove the amp just fine and there no extra noise anywhere.
This makes perfect sense to me, and I am about to go ahead and do it. The Kenwood unit that I purchased has 3-2.5 volt preamp outputs, not 4.0 volts. Is your preamp output 4 volts?
Can anyone else tell me if it would be a mistake to do this with only a 2.5 volt preamp out? As I understand it, the front speakers would not be affected, only the subwoofers. This would be different from Airscape's setup.
I can exchange the unit for a different one with 4 volts, but it will cost $70 more to get the identical features.
