Hi , my car was having trouble with the ignition, taking Too much to start and if i turned the key half-way si that only the battery was on and let it charge for a few minutes it started inmediately other than that the car was fine, the engine worked like a champ. I took it to a mechanic and he tested the engine and it was "loosing presure" and told me the fuel pump was the problem. I bough one from autozone(im thinking this might be part of the problem) they replaced the old one and when i picked it up the engine started with no problem but when i drove it when i accelerated the engine stalled and took a few minutes to respond, it always happened when i hit the brakes for a stop and then pushed the gas Also the check engine light popped up, took it again to the mechanic and told me it was my fuel filter, changed it and the problem is still there.
Can it be that the New fuel pump be faulty ? Or can it be the MAF? Or the mechanic messed up something??? Any thoughts on what should i be looking for be greatly apreciated since im not very good at mechanic stuff
