Hi All,
I just finished the solder repair on my RCM hoping that would fix my two engine codes P0140 & P0341 plus the "mystery no start". The P0140 showed up a couple days of purchasing the car last Nov. Since I work from home the Crossfire hasn't seen a lot of road time yet. The secondary air pump sounds normal upon startup and then shuts off after about 60 seconds which to my understanding is S.O.P. I had the Crossfire out last weekend and it was about 90 degrees outside. After stopping for some shopping it took three attempts to get her started. The first two attempts the engine would crank but not turn over. Once it was running after the third attempt, the CEL was on throwing the new P0341 code.
The RCM fix went just fine and I thought I had it licked. I got the RCM back in and all the engine codes were cleared. Went out for a test drive, got back home let it sit for a little bit. Went out to restart it and it didn't start on the first turn but it started on the second turn and now the check engine light is back on throwing P0341.
The previous owner had the crankshaft sensor replaced September 2014 but he had to have a new sensor warranty replaced last August 2015. He also had the camshaft sensor replaced last August 2015, so now it's already showing that it is bad with the P0341 code.
I was really hoping it wasn't the sensors going bad and it was just the RCM issue. Does anyone else have any ideas or do I just need to replace the camshaft sensor?
The dealership said the part is still under warranty but it would be $97.00 for them to run their diagnostics to make sure that is the issue. The last thing I want to do is to take it in to them since they have already replaced the crankshaft sensor twice and the camshaft sensor last August.
Here's the details on the prior service. Any help or suggestions would really be appreciated!
Thank!
Craig
