Good point. One more reason to keep the engine and tubing clean. It stays cooler and tends to crack less/later in life. Sitting on the back of the engine, it gets dirtier from road blow-up.
If this has failed, I understand it is a major issue. If I had one in-hand (not on my DD), I'll bet I could make a fix.
