I'll use some contact cleaner on the contacts. Plus take a look at the two pins in the plug.

I'll be extra careful starting the screw (by hand) once I get the camshaft sensor replaced as to not mess up the threads.

Any other advice or encouraging words before I pop the hood tomorrow?

The CPS can be removed with the cable still attached, the plug is easier to unlatch this way. Be careful not to drop the little bolt, some use some method to get the bolt to stay jammed in the socket.
