I find the torque curve far more informative than simple HP ratings.


That said for real power with a very wide torque band you need DOHC with VVT i&e, Direct Injection, and Boost. Current SOA for a 87 PON 3.2 engine would be 402 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque from 1750 to 4500 rpm with a redline in the 6500-7000 range.


Personally I find the N/A 3.2 to be "enough for me" but a still a design from the last century. It is the total Crossfire package that I like.
