Re: What did you do to your Crossfire today?
I took apart the center console today to try and figure out a way to permanently keep the broken cupholder down. I decided there was no good way of doing this. I disassembled the cupholder assembly and saved just the top plate. I am using JB Weld PlasticWeld to secure the top plate of the old cup holder to the surrounding trim. Parchment paper makes for an excellent working surface for this since it will peel right off the sticky jbweld without pulling it off! I started with 4 small pieces of jbweld at the corners, working from the backside first to make sure the top plate lies flat and even with the trim piece. After about an hour, i went to work on the top side, filling in what was left. I cut off a small piece of parchment paper to place over the material I laid down and used this to smooth out the jbweld. I'll let this cure and harden overnight and begin the process of sanding/painting tomorrow.
