I live in southwestern Ontario, close to Detroit, Michigan. I too just had our rear window fall down from the top while it was parked. It is a 2005 red roadster that only has 26,000 kilometers. Very upsetting to read about all the problems with the separation, since we also own a 2008 roadster (19,000km).
I contacted Chrysler Canada, but they said there are no bulletins, or issues noted by them.
I don't mind trying to glue the top if there has been good success with the repair for several years. Can anyone speak to the longevity of their repairs?
Thanks in advance,
Regards, Darlene
Look through this thread and you should find the correct adhesive to use. MrMiata used it I think.
I think Chrysler Canada stinks, they are avoiding any bit of trouble that they can, Chrysler dealers are the pits as well. I had four of their products in a row as my wife worked at a Chrysler dealership and the repairs were cheap, even oil changes were not worth doing myself. Had I to pay full price for the labor I would not have had those cars. I do not count the Crossfire as one of the four Chrysler cars.
I will never buy a Chrysler product again, I have in sequence gone through Ford, GM and Chrysler. I am now on to Hyundai, though I am not too impressed with the dealer I purchased the car from but that is easily fixed, hopefully.
No wonder there are so many cars made by foreign owned companies on the roads these days, the big three has only itself to blame.
With regard to the Crossfire I can see why the 'new' Chrysler Corporation does not want anything to do with these cars, it is really just the old name and factories with new owners, despite the money Joe Public poured into it. I think that the warranty on all of the cars have now lapsed, I doubt that a top on a 2008 Corvette is still under a guarantee, nothing lasts forever.
