Hi all I hope someone can help me here my car has been having issues lately and I finally took it to the dealer to look at it. What's happening is the lights stay on no matter what even with the switch off and key out of the car and I can't lock or unlock the car. I had a feeling the car thought it was being stolen and locking me out and the dealer confirmed this and said the alarm control module got wet and the wiring is fried. They want to charge me close to 4k to fix it and when I said I would look for a used module he said it wouldn't work because it needs to be programmed to the car from scratch. Can anyone tell me if this is true or if I have any other options because I don't have 4 grand to spend on this car right now thank you in advance.
