Okay... Now I have some time so here goes.....
1967....... '55 Chevy 2 door Hard top had a 265 but that was replaced with a 327 Duntoff cam w/ T10 4 speed.
1968...... '57 Ford 2 door wagon. 312 bored 30 over with 3/4 Dempsey Wilson cam and another Borg-Warner T10 4 speed.
1969...... '68 Datsun 2000 roadster. (Went in the Army in July of this year).
1971...... Returned from Viet Nam and bought my first Corvette.... 1970 396 375 hp.
1973..... Started building my '67 Chevelle. Ripped the 260 ci 6 cyl. out and dropped in a stroked 396 (now 427) with a B&M 4 speed Hydro. 3,200 rmp stall Big Banana torque converter. Dana rear end. I was stationed at Ft. Meade, Md. and used to run the car @ the old Capital raceway. Turned low 10s. Not bad for a street toy.
1975.... First trip to Germany. Bought a '69 BMW 2002 Turbo tap. Fun car. But that same year I also bought a '65 Alfa Spider. Now that car was a Super Fun Car!!!
1978.... Returned to the States and bought a '76 Chevelle 350 (4 bolt main) bored it 30 over (383 ci) with Hooker header side pipes and had a turbo 350 trans. w/ B7M shift kit. Holley 780. And swivel bucket seats.
1979.... Back to Germany... Bought an Opel Commador... 327 Chevy with 4 speed and quadrajet. Dumped the quadrajet for a 650 Holley and bought my first Harley. a 1980 80 in. Wide Glide. Played with the bike more than the car.
1982... returned to the States and the civilian job market. Bought a V6 Mercury Capri with a Porche Carrera Whale tale on it. It actually fit the car very well. It was a fun car until 1985 when I bought another Vette.
Traded the '85 Vette for a 1987 Buick Regal Grand National. Twin intercooled Turbo V6. Nice car!
Also in 1987 built a '70 Ford Mustang Drag car. 351 Windsore Bored 30 ocer (383) dual 650 Holleys. Crane roller cam and Compitition cams roller rockers. Performance transmissions compitition C6 trans, W/ Hurst ratchet shifter. Tubed rear end w/ Dana 60 and Henrey's 3 inch axles. Mustang II front suspension. This car turned low 9s and high 8s. It was also street legal.
1989.... The local Drag strip closed (Suffolk, Va.). I sold the Mustang and Buick and bought a Dodge Ram pickup and a Master Craft Tournament ski boat and played with that for the next 5 years.
1995, Bought the wife a '95 V8 T'bird and myself a '95 Probe GT. Both okay but nothing to write home about.
1997 Bought a '97 Chrysler Cirrus. Good car until 70k miles then it went down hill rapidly. Tranny went as did the a/c compressor. Swore I would never buy another Chrysler product.... The MB heart of the Crossfire is the only way Chrysler got me back.
1999.... Traded Cirrus for 1999 Ford Explorer (still have) Got remarried in 1999 and the new wife had a 1993 Buick Regal G/S.
2002 bought a '87 ford ranger 2.9l V6 for a project truck. It's ready for paint but now I want to drop a 302 V8 in it. Paint will wait.
2003.... In Oct. we bought the Crossfire and sold the Buick.
So right now we have the 1987 Ford Ranger,
1999 Ford Explorer and the 2004 Crossfire.
I skipped a whole slew of cars that O bought at a low price did a little work and sold them for profit.
Also from 1965 until 1972 my Dad and I owned several different Midgets and Sprint Cars. Befors I went into the Army my ome track was ASCOT park in Gardena, Ca. The last sprint car was a Curtis Chassis with a Hilborne injected Offenhauser. I had my last race in that car in 1972 in York, Pa. ( I was stationed at Ft. Meade, Md) The car was destroyed and I had a Spinal compression injury. The Army told me I had to either quit racing or quit the Army. Not a hard choice since I was getting paid to Fly and it was costing to race.
