Yea, that is true. However, if the high bidder thinks they don't have anyone else interested in their auction and don't raise their max, you might luck out. It's just an option and I have used the system very sparingly. Good luck...right now the price is great!
When i buy things from ebay i just wait till the last min.or so and hit it with a slammer never fails all you do is look at the bids and figure out the other bidders tactics simple they cant figure out what to do and theres no time to do it anyway ronnie.
