It sure does not hurt to add an offer to buy another car., every now and again someone will take them up on the offer.
The auto industry has always been on the edge when it comes to ethics, shady dealers, mechanics etc. Even with more stringent laws for consumer protection most remain suspect of bending rules and regulations and they still get away with it.
