Re: Performance modification limit? (non SRT6)
Okay first of all, our str6's do not have your everyday Auto. Do not compare them to the auto in any car you have owned unless it was an amg or similar. I have said this over and over again to my friends, this is the best auto transmission I've ever driven, and I will only buy an auto amg from now on. It is truly on another level, especially when compared to those darn CVT's.....
Second, get the srt6. You will regret it if you don't. Its like asking a ugly/chubby/hairy/smelly girl to prom when the hot/sexy/fine one is already willing to with you to prom and your hotel room after. You will not miss manuals, you will only wish every auto was made like this. You will never have anything close to an srt6 unless you put massive amounts of money into a NA xfire, in others you drop in a v8 supercharged (which i highly recommend as well).
Third, no there is no turbo kit. forget it. forget what you read. Go out and spend your time searching for a mermaid, you will have better luck. Bring me back one.
Fourth, the srt6 will make crazy power with minor bolt ons. For the cheap guys, you can hit 12's with approximately 1500. I think it will cost you $20,000 if you bought a NA to get to that point (v8 swap).
Fifth (becoming a long list), EuroCharged makes a TCU tune, I don't even have it and I love my transmission as is. Its like having a girlfriend with amazing hooters and then she goes and gets implants. The TCU tune will give you full manual option without the clutch. Yea full control.
Do not compare an amg auto to the auto's you have driven. They are not the same, at least in my experience.
Drive an srt6 and fall in love. She won't bleed you dry, she's trustworthy, she's a hell of a ride and she's very unique. Not pontiac aztec unique, more like Dodge IROC R/T or DOHC V8 Corvette unique (yea remember those, how many people googled the IROC).
