I'm in the process of painting my windshield trim now. I have the PPG brand "omni" XZA paint and have used it twice now on the trim at different air pressure setting and have had the same result. It looks different than the original paint on the trim. The color is the same but it seems to have larger metal flakes in it and thus appears different than the original. I actually like it better. The thing is while I was at the paint store I wanted to get a "harder" paint to help withstand the wind, dirt bugs etc that get bounced off that windshield trim. The counter person said the one stage urethane is harder than the base coat/clear coat combo so I bought the single stag ( two liquids you blend together: the paint and then an activator ratio was 4 oz paint to 1 oz activator). You then spray that on and it glosses over and looks real good, but it is different looking than the original. Something to be aware of when selecting paints.
I did the door handles also.
