Not sure but I think service manual says something about valve core/stem as signal sender. Both are aluminum to avoid dissimilar metal corrosion/failure??



Yes, the stem with cap is the antenna. Do not paint or cover it up in any way. Also, I understand there are TWO different 'systems' in our crossfires (frequency). Make sure the stems match the frequency of the receiver before you buy them. I also heard (have not confirmed, as mine are bypassed forever) that some of the replacements are able to be used with either receiver (dual transmit frequencies, selectable after install).
