A couple of years ago I had the same symptoms you describe, car had 13,000 miles on it at the time. Bought a Bosch CPS, installed it and no change. Sent the RCM to tighed1 and when it came back and I reinstalled it the problem was solved. Not saying that is definitely your problem but it worked for me and yours probably needs done anyway.
