Older model Benz. Not a straight swap. A spacer has to be machined, and set up of the ring and pinion has to be shimmed perfectly. A yes the wave trac remains in there. TCM has to be flashed to accept the new gear ratio. Really loving the car right now. Picture your old AMX with a 4.88...lol Only we go all the way to 160.

I might add, this gear swap coudn't have been done without Jim and Rudy. Speedriven helped as well. It isn't cheap by no means. This is my only real toy. So this is what I thought the car needed since I bought into these cars. Always a believer there is no reason or place to run 180 mph. Nor is it done in a short distance. Unless you live in Germany. I wanted to maximize the car in a half mile. It is more realistic, and hell of lot more fun. I like drag racing, but this gear would be great on round track. Cost? Well, you could combine all the other mods listed below on the car, and you wouldn't be there....
