I might agree that the mesh portion of the grille is set back too far. Maybe "split" the difference.

A "Picture" will solve a lot a lot of words.
or maybe not...ok...i'll wait.

PS, I haven't seen any other manufacturer answer any inquiries, let alone step up and make a prototype of anything. Again, just my 2c.
