Just because it is on the list does not mean it is OK to use.
A 30 grade oil may be a bit to thin at operating temperature.
If you visit Porsche 924, 944 or 928 forums you'll find that most folk recommend a 15W40 or thicker oil. While the topic of which
brand of oil is best rages from time to time, the feeling has long been held that these hot-running motors need a thick oil. Naturally these weights can usually be found with diesel certification; however, as long as it also says it meets SH, SJ, SL, SM or SN you're good to go. Not great stuff in the winter mind you, but who drives these cars then?!
My P cars never leave home without Rotella T3 15W40.
