Did you upgrade your fuel pump and tune for it? It may starve for fuel on the top of the rpm band. Which means the car will die out.
You will need a belt rap kit. Latemodel21 or Needswings.
Metal gaskets can break down over time. Try new gaskets with some copper spray. Torque to 7ftlbs I go 8, but 7 recommended.
You said in your original post you needed to stop tinkering with the car, guess that is out the window now????
