So I worked out today how to trick it.

1. Lock the doors on the fob.
2. Single fob press to unlock the drivers door.
3. Open and close the door.
4. Lock drivers door with the key.
= locked car without arming the alarm.
You have another problem then, doing as you say on my car sets the alarm. This is indicated by the flashing light on the dash.
It may stop your siren but the alarm system has probably been armed.
I can see people going out to their cars and trying your method.
