That is exactly what happened. I chatted live with eBay last night and requested to be part of the private bidding on that item. This morning the car is gone and eBay sent me a note of outside bidding from them, warning me if an attempt is made. My problem is after 1,000 trades and having never gotten burnt I let my guard down and this could of gone the other way.
