When replacing it, unscrew the bolt, lift the CPS and carefully unclip the connector to it. This would be better than trying to unclip it while the CPS is still in place, you do not want to break that clip.
Also where is this tape to the RCM, inside the box or outside?
If the trunk does not open and the doors do not open then the CLP/SSM in the trunk is out of commission. Maybe water in the trunk has ruined the CLP/SSM, or the plastic air lines have broken.
Your lucky the gas cap is still open.
