On second thought, not the owner, he/she would have to be in the car holding the button, I guess it's for stupid spouses or kids.
( unless you have the one-touch top mod, then you could display your stupidity by starting the top and rushing around to open the trunk ! )
You beat me to the operation of this switch with your post edit.
If he is not operating the top it does not come into play unless it is busted, is that correct?
