It is not a know issue, I would think it would somewhat effect performance as the engine is most efficient when both plugs are firing.
Ever had flight lessons ? If you have, then recall the mag check :
Engine turning at 2000 RPM with switch in both, turn to left only and see about a 200-300 RPM drop, same with switch in right only position.
