In my labs, with 1200 deg C furnaces, it's always a challenge to reduce temps where you don't want heat, and I've found these 2 products impressive:

Gold-colored foil tape to reflect heat away from objects Max temp 450 C.
You apply this to surfaces that you wish to protect from infrared radiation.
The adhesive used is rated to 175 C. But I've never seen it release or come loose without extreme damage to the foil.

The fools you see on Youtube testing its rating with a gas torch are unable to understand basic physics principles.

1/16: 1.5 mm) thick, and more difficult to apply, it has a very high temp rating and I've not seen any degradation in 3+ years.
