Easy peesy, jack each corner at a time and change each shock as you go, no special tools required.
You have to remove the trunk lower panels, that's easy enough.
I just looked-the car must be on the ground to remove both the front and rear upper shock nut and/or hardware.
Maybe thats why the shop said it was a PITA?
