Esp light on because standard tyre valves
I own a Chrysler crossfire roadster 2005 in the UK. Here we have MOT’s each year, and this year my car failed its MOT because the esp light is on. We know why the light is on, its because I have standard tyre valves not the tyre pressure sensor monitoring ones. Now in order to pass the mot, the esp light cannot remain on and the car computer needs to be recoded to let the computer know not to read the tyres. I have spoken to one ex dealer, who said they could do this easily but they no longer have the chyrsler equipment to do this, and there is now only one dealer in the south east UK who I have now spoken to. First they said that the crossfire cannot be done, and then when I told them an ex dealer said they could do this easily they told me that some of the crossfire models can be done but it depends. This dealer is known to rip people off, and I am sure they will say that mine is the one that cannot be recoded. What I want to know from Chrysler is can this be done to turn the light off as the car computer thinks its unstable which it isn’t. If so, what are the steps that the UK dealer has to complete on the computer to get access to this section to switch off, so I can let them know what they need to do.
