but in all honesty...you will be better off touching up the rear edge of the hood instead of repainting the entire hood itself. once the factory paint is replaced/resprayed the hood will chip from rocks beyond belief. there is nothing as durable as the factory finish.

the other choice is to have a body shop touch up the area and wetsand the finish to blend it the best they can. this would be my choice.

as for court...that will be a hard one to fight.
