With no more info I could guess at a plugged exhaust system, but then it would be OK after a while and then repeat. I had ice up the tail pipe once and this happened, nothing kinky though.

Snickers bar, stop being cranky!, Besides the water could have gotten in the tank when the owner pumped gas in it, and as for guessing that's about all anybody can do at this point with so little information. 😉
