Re: 1979 mgb
Well, in September my wife had a huge retirement party for me after 33 years on the Fire Department. I turned it around on her and had the MGB sitting outside the venue with a fore sale sign on it. off course she went out and looked at it and was saying how it was the perfect color etc that she always wanted. I said it looks best from the rear and that is when she saw the license plate that had her name on it. Surprise! Well a week after that I was running it in the garage checking the lights etc when smoke poured our of the dash area. It took quick work with a CO2 extinguisher and undoing the battery to save it. The headlight switch caused it and toasted the main harness and the under dash wires but my son in law and I managed to save the main car with out any body damage. If I would have been inside the house for any reason for a couple of minutes it would have been real bad. It was nothing $2500 and all new wiring harnesses wouldn't fix. Plus now the headlight circuit has a fuse and a relay on it, something NG hadn't done from the factory. Another bonus: the head lights are actually bright now.
