I am new owner of a crossfire (1 week) and as per my previous post, I am having trouble with alarm. After 4 days of no issues, the alarm keeps going off at random times. I have changed batteries in fob, I have also replaced the cars battery then because this didn't cure the problem, I finally removed the siren from under the plastic cowl hoping this would resolve issue.
The problem persists (obviously no siren noise but lights keep flashing), I am concerned that this will kill the new battery. Do these alarms switch off or will it keep going until it kills the power?
I have read various posts about siren batteries leaking and causing false alarms but I assume i have discounted this option.
I am now focusing on the switch sensors in either the boot/doors of glove box. Does anyone have any ideas please. Are these readily available to buy and easy fit or can I simply disconnect them? (not bothered about not having an alarm).
Incidentally, I did call the previous owner who is adamant that he never suffered this problem, I am inclined to believe him as I know for a fact that the car has been parked on his drive for months and the cars battery has not been removed as the bolts were rusted in place.
