The flashing light is probably caused by a damaged CLP/SSM in the trunk under the foam. Rain leaks into the trunk and collects in the well the CLP/SSM is in, the water ruins the unit and all sorts of things happen.
x2 on that, I have just been through it !..............not fun, got a new pump for ~$325, and a new siren at $149...........fun times.
They are wanting $250+ for used pumps on ebay .......... :O(
