Re: Alarm!!!
I have removed boot trim and foam and inspected pump. No sign of any water in boot area (pump was in a foam surround, sitting on a rubber plinth). All very clean and dry.
I prised open the pump and again no obvious signs of dampness/corrosion. (i understand this was only a visual inspection and actually hoped to see it sitting in puddle of water and rusted).
The only sign of corrosion was near the boot handle and adjacent bolts also the motor for the spoiler has signs of water ingress (see pics)
I'm now wondering if water is effecting the sensor on the boot handle. I looked to see if i can remove assembly but need to remove the electric spoiler motor also. Does anyone know what will happen if I access this area and somehow disconnect the sensor, I am assuming its some kind of micro-switch?
I'm going to reconnect battery tonight and see if the flashing lights appear then open and shut boot a few times.
Would just love to identify the issue.
Amazing how you can love a car one day and then want to drive the b*****d into the nearest wall the following day!
