Just replaced rear 285/35/19 Khumo Ecstas with 275/35ZR-19 MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 4S tires. These tires are so much stickier and controlled on long sweeping exit ramps - I haven't even touched their potential yet. On one 270 degree sweeper, with the Ecstas, I would max out at 50 mph when the rear would get squirrely. Now, I'm hitting 60 mph and the tires just don't seem to notice anything different. Totally stable with no noise or chatter. Straight line is much better, the Ecstas would just light up in first gear for a couple revs until traction control took over (even with limited slip diff), while the Michelins mostly catch but slip just a bit. The Khumos lasted 10,000 miles. The Michelins are lasting 30k miles according to reviews on tire rack. Much quieter and less jarring... so even though they are a bit more expensive, they will save me two tire replacement cycles along with mounting and balancing - a bargain.
Just in case you're not sure what I'm sayin here, I LIKE em
