The alarm/lights does stop with the key. Not sure I have a panic button on my fob (just lock and unlock buttons).
I noticed the box bolted behind the pump (wondered what that was).
I will definitely disconnect (wish I hadn't replaced boot carpet/trim. what a *** of a job to remove)
The only issue with pulling the fuse is that I can't get my key all the way in the door hole and so does lock/unlock. Guess there may be a bit of snapped key in there (I only have 1 key). Another job to do.
That box is the alarm that activates when the car is lifted. You switch it OFF when you have the car transported on a truck with the switch on the center console by the passenger seat heater.
The rust you have by the hatch lock is probably caused by water getting behind the cover over the spoiler motor, either the hoses that drain the spoiler well have come detached or the seal around the cover have failed. Fix it soon or you will have a worse mess to fix. Do not seal the cover permanently with silicone. See the post on the SRT fix, it is basically the same. CLICK
Water can get in the trunk when this seal fails.
