the crush washer must be changed also.
not always 99 out of 100 you can re-torque the nut adding 2 to 4 ft lbs to add to the crush , 144ft lbs will add about .03 to the crush washer and checking how smooth it turns as you torque it.and of course clay the ring to pinion before you remove the yoke and after you re-torque it.
I did my first 3.27 by re-torquing and adding 2ft lbs and ran it for 2 1/2 years,, My 3.46 that i just got back from unatrx (got a new wavetrac in it) I had re-torqued it in 2016 and ran it for over a year, it too is fine. these mercedes differentials are not hard to work on as a chevy ,. and yes it this was a chevy and you re-torque the pinion within 6 months it would fail. I know i have worked on hunderds of chevys . jim
