.If I unlock and lock with the remote, the engine restarts immediately.

I'd say that this is a pattern but, last time the engine stopped, something else happened : the cooling fan ran fast and I didn't manage to restart (I tried during 10 minutes) even with the unlock/lock operation. Then a tow truck brought the car to the garage and she started immediately... I read a lot of threads about this issue and it seems that it could be related to the RCM and especially the relays/solders.

What I'd like to know is if a RCM failure would have something to do with the unlock/lock remote operation. If not, what do you think the issue could be (ECU, skreem...) ?

Thanks,

Having read of this problem for over twelve years now and to minimize it happening again while out on the road I think I would buy and fit a new RCM and a CPS. The resoldered units may be fine but early in the morning waiting by the side of the road for a tow that is likely to cost more than a new RCM and new CPS you may regret your earlier solution. A new RCM and sensor can be had for less than $200.
Fix two possible problems at once rather than wait to find you have put in or fixed the wrong part.
I carry a spare of each part in my trunk but if I had your problem I know what I would do.
