I had the same problem with my 2004. The bearing was shot. It really looked bad. Had to get the whole drive shaft. That was the only way to fix it.
And yes it's not cheap.
one thing I don't like about eom driveshaft is the non rebuildable center u joint.
yes you can get just the carrier bearing and can change it out yourself.
I have my 2 piece driveshaft sitting in my shop from changing out to a single piece aluminum driveshaft, if you want I can take some pics of it split to show the bearing.
no, a new 2 piece shaft is expensive.
Since I made my adapter plates, I have 1/4 the price of a oem shaft and did a single piece aluminum driveshaft with 1310 clip in u joints.
