I can confirm that you can replace the bearing or bearing holder separately, as I have changed them on my car. You can also purchase the holder and bearing as a complete assembly. You don not need an entire driveshaft. Whatever you do though, don't just change the front or the rear section by itself as they are balanced as a complete assembly.
