I took my SRT6 in to get a new set of tires and a four wheel alignment.

I was told that Crossfire bearings are prone to premature wear and that if the wheels are loose on the hubs then the wheels cannot be accurately aligned....which of course is true. I was told my front wheels are loose on the axle.

What I am questioning is if Crossfire wheel bearings are more prone to premature wear than most cars? My car has about 105k miles. I have had plenty of other cars whose wheel bearings were not worn out at 105K miles.

Would shaking the front wheels tell me if I am being lied to or not? The wheel shop wants $500 for new front wheel bearings and an alignment. If they are a little loose, would it be okay to snug the wheel nuts down a little so there is no more shaking?
