Default strange doings yesterday - help please

here's the situation that occurred to me yesterday. 2005 srt6 roadster, driven pretty much daily. left my office and got about 4 blocks, had to stop for a red light. as soon as i came to a complete stop the car quit. it appeared exactly as if i had turned off the key. all the dash warning lights lit up etc. figured that's just grand and the SKREEM went out on me. car would crank, but not even make any effort to start and die like everything i had read about the SKREEM giving up. tried to restart (blocking rush hour traffic of course and getting all types of dirty looks while doing it), a couple of times in a row and each time the car would crank, but no ignition apparently. fumbled around to my towing car for a bit (couldn't locate it at first), then tried to start the car again (this was probably after about 3-4 minutes since the last time i tried unsuccessfully). still nothing. figuring i was cooked, i decided to get out of the sun and just sat in the car for a couple of minutes (probably not more that 2 or 3). figured i had nothing to lose so i tied again and the car started, and seemed to have full power etc. only thing out of the ordinary at this point was a check engine light. didn't (and haven't to this point) pulled the codes. i had the check engine light go on the other day briefly but it went out quickly and there didn't seem to be any problem experienced either when it went on or afterwards, so i am hoping that perhaps it might disappear today when i start the car to head to work. by the way, after restarting i was able to drive home, a distance of approximately 30 miles, at both highway speeds and city traffic speeds without any apparent issues other then the check engine light being on. had full power, everything seemed to work properly (all electronics, a/c, windows, seat, lights, etc). i actually was fearful of turning the car off, but was low on fuel and had to make a pit stop, which went as you would expect, shut the car down, fueled, car started right up like it always had since i have owned it. i was under the impression that the SKREEM would prevent pretty much what i had experienced as far as getting the car running seemingly properly again if it went out, so i am confused and need some of the excellent information i know i can get here. i searched "skreem" but couldn't find a thread that seemed to match my experiences yesterday. thanks in advance for your assistance.
