I understand that the CPS is affected by engine heat. That is why the car operates normally once the sensor cools down. I have also seen posts where people seem to think that dirt / corrosion on the wiring electrical connector to the CPS and the electrical prongs on the CPS cause the problem. You may want to remove the electrical connector and clean the contacts.
