Had our SRT6 for exactly 1 month now. Hadn't driven her at night until this past week when I noticed the low beams were plowing the road right in front of me Figured the lows just needed an adjustment as the highs appeared to be just right. Did a crash course on headlight adjustments (the search feature really works well...kudoos to the forum members past and present for documenting their approach and the pitfalls!) All I can say is that bailing wire that provides tension on the metal base of the bulb is a big pain in the a**. Frankly I got lucky in my first pass with both headlights, tying off the hose on the pass side, using 90 degree tipped long needle nose pliers to disconnect the plugs and squeeze the bailing wire from that hooked edge. Was able to swing that wire on both headlights up and carefully remove the bulbs without disconnecting the bloody bailing wire. Those pics were a lifesaver as I oriented the low beam bulbs (so I thought) correctly. Yup, after a very smooth first time dismantling and hooking everything back up, I realized I DID NOT have those bulbs seated right...still plowing the road. So, round 2 after dinner tonight I reacquainted myself for the same drill. Got the pass side seated and a quick test did show low beam was higher than the driver's side. Great! Now on to round 2 for the driver's side.

Got the plug off and no sooner did I squeeze the bailing wire, the bloody wire just came right out of the hole. Managed to not lose it and, I believe it was onehundred80's suggestion to tie a string on that tension wire so, should I drop it I could retrieve it easily. Thank you onehundred80! THAT really worked well 'cause over the last 2 hours I've been dropping her as I blindly tried to re-hook the 2 ends. What do they say, "patience is a virtue..." I was getting no where until I took some closeups of where those wire ends hook onto. Now I could blindly feel for those spots and gingerly re-hook that bailing wire to the top. Decided to finish her in the morning...It just beat me up!

Pics follow. I ended up disconnecting the battery as I had to remove some stuff on the driver's side to give me access. Think it's down hill now...but what a pain in the a**.

THIS is what saved me. If you can see those 2 eyelets the ends of the bailing wire must pass through, you can then blindly hook one side then the other
